Auction result well in line with expectations
The work entitled 'English Valve Horns' and dated 1954, depicting a striding Oriental musician amongst entwined flower sprays and foliage, inscription to lower right corner entitled 'Horns' with description of the instruments -- 17in. x 21½in. (43.2cms x 54.5cms), by Elyse Ashe Lord was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 590.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Elyse Ashe Lord have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2014 the work A Japanese deity rising to the sky was auctioned for GBP 750.00 (€ 963.34).
