Auction result well in line with expectations

(19.7cms x 24.7cms), pencil signed, numbered 26/85, framed and glazed. by Elyse Ashe Lord was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 305.50 (€ 439.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elyse Ashe Lord - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Japanese deity rising to the sky, which sold at auction in September 2014 for GBP 750.00 (€ 963.34).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 305,50 (€ 439,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
