Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Christies in New York held the auction 20th Century Evening Sale, which included the work Green Curve in Relief by Ellsworth Kelly. The price achieved of USD 2,820,000.00 (€ 2,731,764.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500,000.00 – 3,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ellsworth Kelly - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Curve VII, which sold at auction in November 2019 for USD 9,809,000.00 (€ 8,901,896.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion 20th Century Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Green Curve in Relief von Ellsworth Kelly zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.820.000,00 (€ 2.731.764,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.500.000,00 – 3.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ellsworth Kelly mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red Curve VII beobachtet, die im November 2019 für USD 9.809.000,00 (€ 8.901.896,72) versteigert wurde.
