Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Madonna and Child by Elliott Daingerfield was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,050.00 (€ 7,574.13). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elliott Daingerfield - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grand Canyon, Moonlight, which sold at auction in February 2013 for USD 27,500.00 (€ 21,026.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Madonna and Child von Elliott Daingerfield im Januar 2001 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.050,00 (€ 7.574,13) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Elliott Daingerfield mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grand Canyon, Moonlight beobachtet, die im Februar 2013 für USD 27.500,00 (€ 21.026,07) versteigert wurde.
