Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2006 Sothebys in London held the auction Post War and Contemporary Irish Art, which included the work Purple Tree by Elizabeth Magill. The price achieved of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,721.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elizabeth Magill - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Heartland, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 55,950.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2006 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Post War and Contemporary Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Purple Tree von Elizabeth Magill zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.721,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Elizabeth Magill mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Heartland beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 40.000,00 (€ 55.950,01) versteigert wurde.
