Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Elizabeth Cope could be acquired at Sothebys in London in October 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post War and Contemporary Irish Art auction, the work Tabac, Mazan changed hands for GBP 2,280.00 (€ 3,406.52) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elizabeth Cope - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With Cat And Flowers, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,476.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Elizabeth Cope konnte im Oktober 2006 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post War and Contemporary Irish Art wechselte die Arbeit Tabac, Mazan für GBP 2.280,00 (€ 3.406,52) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Elizabeth Cope mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life With Cat And Flowers beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 5.760,00 (€ 8.476,23) versteigert wurde.
