Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2000 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Arrival of the Dancers by Elisabeth Vellacott. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,990.00 (€ 4,972.51) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elisabeth Vellacott - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Dwarf, which sold at auction in April 2017 for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,875.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Arrival of the Dancers von Elisabeth Vellacott zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.990,00 (€ 4.972,51) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Elisabeth Vellacott mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Dwarf beobachtet, die im April 2017 für GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.875,17) versteigert wurde.
