This artwork by Elisabeth Vellacott achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2002. In the British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations auction, the work Cat and Pear Tree sold for GBP 587.50 (€ 908.73) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elisabeth Vellacott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dwarf in April 2017 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,875.17).

In der Auktion British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations wurde die Arbeit Cat and Pear Tree für GBP 587,50 (€ 908,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elisabeth Vellacott erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dwarf im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.875,17).
