In September 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction Selected Works from the Neuberger Berman and Lehman Brothers Corporate Art Collections, which included the work Iceland: Kitchen by Elisa Sighicelli. The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,704.80), 33% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elisa Sighicelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Iceland: Bathroom, which sold at auction in November 2018 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,019.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im September 2010 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Selected Works from the Neuberger Berman and Lehman Brothers Corporate Art Collections durch, in der auch die Arbeit Iceland: Kitchen von Elisa Sighicelli zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.704,80) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Elisa Sighicelli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Iceland: Bathroom beobachtet, die im November 2018 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.019,16) versteigert wurde.
