Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Sothebys in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art Including Works from the Qantas Collection, which included the work Australian Taylor'S Bay by Elioth Gruner. The price achieved of AUD 57,600.00 (€ 35,417.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elioth Gruner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Mingoola Valley, which sold at auction in May 2007 for AUD 150,000.00 (€ 92,232.22).
