Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Elijah Walton could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours including Original auction, the work Figures boating on a lake in a mountainous landscape changed hands for GBP 107.55 (€ 162.53) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elijah Walton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Returning to Sinai - A Sketch in the Desert' in February 2021 with an auction result of GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,411.42).
