Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Raging Torrent, Snowdonia by Elijah Walton was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours auction at Christies in London in November 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,247.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elijah Walton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Returning to Sinai - A Sketch in the Desert', which sold at auction in February 2021 for GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,411.42).
