Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Heaven Car Wash by Eliezer Sonnenschein was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 438.00 (€ 497.20). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eliezer Sonnenschein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work No. 1 Gun in November 2009 with an auction result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,669.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Heaven Car Wash von Eliezer Sonnenschein im November 2017 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 438,00 (€ 497,20) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eliezer Sonnenschein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit No. 1 Gun im November 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 6.669,33).
