Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Sothebys in Dubai held the auction This Too Shall Pass, which included the work Palmyrian Incense Offering by Elias Zayat. The price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,033.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elias Zayat - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Awdat Al Shahid (Return Of The Martyr), which sold at auction in March 2016 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 43,898.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in Dubai die Auktion This Too Shall Pass durch, in der auch die Arbeit Palmyrian Incense Offering von Elias Zayat zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.033,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Elias Zayat mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Awdat Al Shahid (Return Of The Martyr) beobachtet, die im März 2016 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 43.898,16) versteigert wurde.
