Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Eileen Agar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July last year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London auction, the work Self-Portrait sold for GBP 32,760.00 (€ 39,121.26) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Eileen Agar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Taking Aim in April this year with an auction result of HKD 176,400.00 (€ 180,138.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eileen Agar erzielte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London wurde die Arbeit Self-Portrait für GBP 32.760,00 (€ 39.121,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eileen Agar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Taking Aim im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 176.400,00 (€ 180.138,91).
