In April 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work British An Eastern Lily by Edwin Long. The result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 21,961.93) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Long achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Ancient Custom in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 776,000.00 (€ 831,903.95).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit British An Eastern Lily von Edwin Long zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 21.961,93) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Long erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Ancient Custom im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 776.000,00 (€ 831.903,95).
