In the The Country House Sale: Pomfret House and Tetworth Hall auction, the work Fishermen hauling in their nets, with merchant shipping coming out of a port beyond sold for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,324.96) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Edwin Hayes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Irish Dutch Boats Off Dover in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 27,400.00 (€ 18,654.68).
