The work Wildflowers of New England, Vol. III (Part V Lily, Iris, Violet and Convolvulus Families and Part VI Aquatic Plants, Pink, Crowfoot and Madder Families) by Edwin Hale Lincoln was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in London in May 2002. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,950.00 (€ 18,713.86), 33% above the upper estimate. With this result, Wildflowers of New England, Vol. III (Part V Lily, Iris, Violet and Convolvulus Families and Part VI Aquatic Plants, Pink, Crowfoot and Madder Families) is even the most expensive work of art by Edwin Hale Lincoln that we have observed at auctions so far.
