In December last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art Online, which included the work Cascade Lake and Fallen Leaf Lake (a group of two) each 8 x 11 1/2 in. each framed 12 x 16 in. by Edwin Deakin. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,621.99), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Deakin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vernal Falls in August 2021 with an auction result of USD 60,312.50 (€ 51,112.29).

Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California and Western Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cascade Lake and Fallen Leaf Lake (a group of two) each 8 x 11 1/2 in. each framed 12 x 16 in. von Edwin Deakin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.805,00 (€ 2.621,99) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Deakin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vernal Falls im August 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.312,50 (€ 51.112,29).
