Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2002 Christies in London held the auction VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work Catching sticklebacks by Edward Wilkins Waite. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 10,157.50 (€ 15,906.12). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Wilkins Waite - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In the Orchard, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 23,900.00 (€ 36,967.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion VICTORIAN PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Catching sticklebacks von Edward Wilkins Waite zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 10.157,50 (€ 15.906,12) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Wilkins Waite mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit In the Orchard beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für GBP 23.900,00 (€ 36.967,89) versteigert wurde.
