This artwork by Edward Weston achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Skinner Boston in January 2024. In the Prints & Photographs auction, the work Breast alternatively titled Nude sold for USD 3,840.00 (€ 3,356.06) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Weston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,609,000.00 (€ 1,033,530.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward Weston erzielte im Januar 2024 bei Bonhams in Skinner Boston einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & Photographs wurde die Arbeit Breast alternatively titled Nude für USD 3.840,00 (€ 3.356,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Weston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.609.000,00 (€ 1.033.530,32).
