The work View over the Lake by Edward Wesson was sold in the 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART auction at Christies in London in December 2001. It achieved a price of GBP 470.00 (€ 767.91), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 57%. Admittedly, works by Edward Wesson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Thames barges racing on the estuary in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,240.00 (€ 4,702.68).

Die Arbeit View over the Lake von Edward Wesson wurde im Dezember 2001 in der Auktion 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 470,00 (€ 767,91) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 57%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Wesson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Thames barges racing on the estuary im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.240,00 (€ 4.702,68).
