Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In the Street by Edward Wesson was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2001. It changed hands for a price of GBP 293.75 (€ 479.95) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Admittedly, works by Edward Wesson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Thames barges racing on the estuary in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,240.00 (€ 4,702.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit In the Street von Edward Wesson kam im Dezember 2001 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 293,75 (€ 479,95) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Wesson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Thames barges racing on the estuary im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.240,00 (€ 4.702,68).
