This artwork by Edward Wesson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2003. In the British Art on Paper including the Collection and Studio of auction, the work A Corner in Rye, Sussex sold for GBP 528.75 (€ 765.96) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300.00. Admittedly, works by Edward Wesson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Thames barges racing on the estuary in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,240.00 (€ 4,702.68).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward Wesson erzielte im März 2003 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British Art on Paper including the Collection and Studio of wurde die Arbeit A Corner in Rye, Sussex für GBP 528,75 (€ 765,96) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 300,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Wesson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Thames barges racing on the estuary im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.240,00 (€ 4.702,68).
