Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian & Edwardian Art, which included the work Girls, Frightened By A Dog by Edward Thompson Davis. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,133.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Edward Thompson Davis have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2002 the work The Evening Lesson was auctioned for GBP 16,730.00 (€ 25,877.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Girls, Frightened By A Dog von Edward Thompson Davis zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.133,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Edward Thompson Davis konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juni 2002 die Arbeit The Evening Lesson für GBP 16.730,00 (€ 25.877,52) versteigert.
