This artwork by Edward Thompson Davis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2014. In the A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting auction, the work Weary Wanderer sold for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,435.48) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Edward Thompson Davis; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Evening Lesson sold at auction in June 2002 with the realized price of GBP 16,730.00 (€ 25,877.52).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward Thompson Davis erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting wurde die Arbeit Weary Wanderer für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 18.435,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Edward Thompson Davis; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Evening Lesson im Juni 2002 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 16.730,00 (€ 25.877,52).
