Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work The Alphabet by Edward Thompson Davis for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,136.13). This price was achieved in the auction A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Edward Thompson Davis have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2002 by the work The Evening Lesson at GBP 16,730.00 (€ 25,877.52).
