Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a young girl, bust-length, wearing a blue necklace by Edward Tayler was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours auction at Christies in London in March 2004. The price achieved of GBP 358.50 (€ 536.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Tayler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,091.25).
