Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edward Tayler could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Victorian Pictures auction, the work Portrait of Eila Jeanette Rimmington (1921-1994), seated half-length, in a yellow dress and bonnet, flowers in her lap beside a river changed hands for GBP 480.00 (€ 712.38) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Tayler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,091.25).
