Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Charlie Chaplin by Edward Steichen. The price achieved of USD 6,350.00 (€ 6,008.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Steichen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Flatiron in November last year with an auction result of USD 11,840,000.00 (€ 11,469,534.05).
