In March last year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Two horses, a boy and his dog on the coast by Edward Robert Smythe. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,325.64), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Robert Smythe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Horse Fair in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 39,234.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two horses, a boy and his dog on the coast von Edward Robert Smythe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.325,64) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Robert Smythe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Horse Fair im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.450,00 (€ 39.234,49).
