Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Yarmouth Jetty, with promenaders, fishermen and travellers with their horses by Edward Robert Smythe was sold in the Victorian & Traditionalist Art auction at Christies in London in February 2009. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,100.54) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Robert Smythe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Horse Fair in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 39,234.49).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.100,54) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00.
