Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Atlantic City, Pennsylvania Railroad by Edward Mason Eggleston for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,918.49). This price was achieved in the auction Travel and Vintage Posters at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Edward Mason Eggleston have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2011 by the work Atlantic City, Pennsylvania Railroad at GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,648.12).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Atlantic City, Pennsylvania Railroad von Edward Mason Eggleston für GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.918,49) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Travel and Vintage Posters bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Edward Mason Eggleston wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2011 die Arbeit Atlantic City, Pennsylvania Railroad mit GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.648,12).
