Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Waiting For The Ferry - Shelter Island by Edward Lamson Henry was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,463.74). Admittedly, works by Edward Lamson Henry have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flower Seller in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 49,350.00 (€ 56,763.29).
