Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Panther at Bay by Edward Kemeys was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,452.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Kemeys achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Coyote' in September 2009 with an auction result of USD 80,500.00 (€ 55,023.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Panther at Bay von Edward Kemeys kam im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.530,00 (€ 1.452,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Kemeys erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Coyote' im September 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 55.023,92).
