Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Elephant and Tiger by Edward Kemeys. The price achieved of USD 7,200.00 (€ 5,383.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Kemeys achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Coyote' in September 2009 with an auction result of USD 80,500.00 (€ 55,023.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Elephant and Tiger von Edward Kemeys zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 7.200,00 (€ 5.383,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Kemeys erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Coyote' im September 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 55.023,92).
