Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tulips in a Yellow Pot by Edward Burra was sold in the Dialogues: Modern and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in London in July 2020. The price achieved of GBP 100,000.00 (€ 111,542.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Burra achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zoot Suits in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 2,057,250.00 (€ 2,275,964.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Tulips in a Yellow Pot von Edward Burra wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Dialogues: Modern and Contemporary Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 100.000,00 (€ 111.542,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Burra erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Zoot Suits im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.057.250,00 (€ 2.275.964,73).
