In June 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale, which included the work Horn Head VI by Edward Bawden. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,809.37), 51% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Edward Bawden have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The English Pub in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 36,000.00 (€ 53,461.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Horn Head VI von Edward Bawden zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.809,37) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Bawden auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The English Pub im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.000,00 (€ 53.461,13).
