Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Christies in London held the auction Sporting & Wildlife Art, Including An Important Private Collection of works by Wilhelm Kuhnert and David Shepherd, which included the work A day with the hounds by Edward Algernon Stuart Douglas. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,245.58) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Algernon Stuart Douglas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Finish of A Good Run in May 2006 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,025.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting & Wildlife Art, Including An Important Private Collection of works by Wilhelm Kuhnert and David Shepherd durch, in der auch die Arbeit A day with the hounds von Edward Algernon Stuart Douglas zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.245,58) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Algernon Stuart Douglas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Finish of A Good Run im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.200,00 (€ 28.025,75).
