Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Online, which included the work The Pretenders: Fratricide by Edvard Munch. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,391.40) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edvard Munch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Scream in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 119,922,500.00 (€ 96,993,286.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Pretenders: Fratricide von Edvard Munch zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.391,40) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edvard Munch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Scream im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 119.922.500,00 (€ 96.993.286,96).
