Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work On board Britannia by Eduardo Frederico de Martino was sold in the MARITIME AND NAVAL BATTLES auction at Christies in London in November 2003. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,585.00 (€ 3,710.81), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eduardo Frederico de Martino achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Entente Cordiale: The Royal Yacht Victoria & Albert III reviewing the Anglo-French fleet in Cowes Road, 1905 in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 41,778.33).
