In June 2021 Lempertz in Cologne held the auction Moderne/Zeitgenössische Kunst - Day Sale, which included the work Boulevard Bonne Nouvelle, Soir de Neige by Édouard Cortès. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 22,500.00 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Édouard Cortès - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Boulevard in Montmartre, Paris, which sold at auction in November 2012 for EUR 73,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2021 führte Lempertz in Köln die Auktion Moderne/Zeitgenössische Kunst - Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boulevard Bonne Nouvelle, Soir de Neige von Édouard Cortès zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 22.500,00 und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Édouard Cortès mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Boulevard in Montmartre, Paris beobachtet, die im November 2012 für EUR 73.000,00 versteigert wurde.
