Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2012 Christies in London held the auction Sporting and Wildlife Art, which included the work A dappled grey and a chestnut hunter in a stable, with Windsor Castle beyond by Edmund Bristow. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,930.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edmund Bristow - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Windsor Castle, which sold at auction in July 2012 for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 30,251.12).
