Upper estimate price exceeded by 25 %.
In May 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction European Art, which included the work British Qui M'Aime Me Suit (Who Loves Me Follows Me) by Edmund Blair Leighton. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,422.45), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edmund Blair Leighton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work God Speed in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 707,750.00 (€ 1,121,870.87).
