In July 2004 Christies in London held the auction AT HOME - BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Upper lake, Killarney by Edith Oenone Somerville. The price achieved of GBP 1,314.50 (€ 1,986.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Upper lake, Killarney is the most expensive artwork by Edith Oenone Somerville that we have observed at auctions so far.
