This artwork by Edgar Longstaffe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2001. In the BRITISH & VICTORIAN PICTURES auction, the work Across The Loch sold for GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,123.05) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Edgar Longstaffe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Loch Lomond sold at auction in November 2010 with the realized price of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,228.12).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Edgar Longstaffe erzielte im Juni 2001 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion BRITISH & VICTORIAN PICTURES wurde die Arbeit Across The Loch für GBP 1.880,00 (€ 3.123,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Edgar Longstaffe; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Loch Lomond im November 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.228,12).
