Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Eden Upton Eddis could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the AT HOME-BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES AND WORKS ON PAPER auction, the work Portrait of Kingsmill Power, bust-length; and Portrait of Mary Henrietta Power, neè Mangles, bust-length changed hands for GBP 58.75 (€ 84.43) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eden Upton Eddis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Group portrait of John Scott, later 3rd Earl of Eldon (1845-1926), and his sisters Lady Selina Scott (d.1891) and Lady Gertrude Scott (d.1919) in January 2007 with an auction result of GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,726.30).
