Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Eden Upton Eddis could be acquired at Christies in London in January 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Portrait of a young girl, half-length, in a white dress (illustrated); and Portrait of a girl, half-length, with her hands resting on a sofa changed hands for GBP 500.00 (€ 562.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eden Upton Eddis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Group portrait of John Scott, later 3rd Earl of Eldon (1845-1926), and his sisters Lady Selina Scott (d.1891) and Lady Gertrude Scott (d.1919) in January 2007 with an auction result of GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,726.30).
In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Portrait of a young girl, half-length, in a white dress (illustrated); and Portrait of a girl, half-length, with her hands resting on a sofa für GBP 500,00 (€ 562,83) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00.
