Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2004 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Eddie Arning for USD 2,868.00 (€ 2,303.24). This price was achieved in the auction Important American Furniture, Folk Art, Silver, Prints and at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eddie Arning - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tricia Got Her Rose Garden, It Was the Only Thing to Do After the Mule Died, and Untitled (Crow with Yellow Background), circa 1975-1970, three drawings, which sold at auction in January 2019 for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,547.93).
