In May 2010 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work Fishing vessels in an offshore breeze by Ebenezer Colls. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,100.74), 40% above the upper estimate. Other works by Ebenezer Colls have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 3,585.00 (€ 5,378.82) in May 2004 for the work A three-decker reducing sail in Spithead in preparation for her arrival into Portsmouth Harbour.
